"Forever Natural": A PFAS Art Project

To underscore the pervasiveness of PFAS, noxious chemicals endemic in commonplace items, I constructed a symbolic tree sculpture employing materials tainted with these substances. PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, pose environmental hazards. By amalgamating components from diverse locales, I aimed to visually elucidate the ubiquity of PFAS. The arboreal metaphor encapsulates the issue, with each constituent portraying the omnipresence of these chemicals. The objective is to prompt contemplation on PFAS and instigate proactive measures to address this environmental quandary.

Clothing Drive

The magnitude of our clothing drive was truly remarkable as it spanned across every residence hall within the university. This widespread collaboration brought together the diverse communities within the campus, creating a collective impact that reverberated through the various living spaces. The result of this concerted effort was the generous donation of approximately 200 pounds of clothing, a tangible representation of the compassion and generosity exhibited by the university community. This substantial collection will undoubtedly make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, underscoring the power of unity and shared commitment to supporting those less fortunate.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Raising breast cancer awareness in all residence halls was vital for building a close-knit community that cares. By spreading awareness across dorms, we show support and understanding for those affected. This initiative was not just about sharing information; it was about creating a network of unity and empathy. Breast cancer touches people in our community, and together, we stand as advocates, educators, and supporters, illustrating the powerful impact of collective awareness in working towards a world free of breast cancer.
